Once you have successfully located an excellent domain name, next you need to decide if you want to secure an additional top-level domain. It is good to purchase more than one domain.

Does it matter whether I choose .COM or .NET or .INFO ...or another domain extension?

No, it does NOT matter, but consider this...

• If you only choose .com internet domain, someone else may come along and purchase your same name using .net or .org. They could create a website that is similar to yours and "steal" your traffic. If you have found an excellent domain name, you may want to purchase the most common top-level domains to go with it. It is a small price to pay for the security of your product or service.
• It is not required that you use a particular domain. Even though .net is now appearing to be the most widely used domain extension (according to www.isc.org/solutions/survey), we believe most people will enter .com before entering any other domain option when looking for a particular business or organization. For this reason, we recommend purchasing at least the .com domain, if possible.
• Having multiple domains is also helpful for businesses using different email systems.

There are 8 choices available. Education (.edu) and Government (.gov) domain extensions are reserved for these institutions only and cannot be purchase through this site.

What the domain extensions mean:

• .Net = Network ... This is the most commonly used domain.
• .Com = Commercial ... Used by companies and general websites.
• .Info = Information ... Often used by informational websites.
• .Org = Organization ... Typical choice of organizations and non-profits
• .Me = Top-level domain for the country Montenegro ... This is a creative new option.
• .Mobi = Mobile Devise
• .Us = United States
• .Biz = Business ... A company may want to use this extension if another website is already using .com.
